Hello from on top of the fridge!

Today was a very important day.

The Wand came out.

I do not know where the humans keep it when it is not being used. I suspect it lives in a secret vault protected by puzzles and ancient magic because it is clearly the most valuable object in the house. The moment I saw it, every thought left my head.

Not that there were many to begin with.

The wand swooped across the floor and I gave chase. It darted behind chairs. It disappeared around corners. It escaped beneath the couch, which is unfortunate because that is my territory. I followed immediately.

The space beneath the couch is excellent. It is dark. It is mysterious. The humans cannot reach me there. Most importantly, it is the perfect place to ambush unsuspecting feather wands.

I crouched low.

I wiggled.

I waited.

The wand appeared.

I launched.

For one glorious moment, I achieved flight.

I missed completely and crashed into a throw pillow. The humans laughed. I do not know why. This was a tactical maneuver. The wand reappeared several more times, and I successfully captured it at least twice, which means I won. The humans may disagree, but they are not experts.

Afterward, I carried the wand triumphantly through the living room while growling at anyone who came near it. This included my people, and a chair that I briefly mistook for a threat.

Eventually I became so tired that I fell asleep halfway under the couch with one paw still touching my prize.

Victory is exhausting.

Tomorrow I shall hunt the feather wand again. I trust it has learned nothing from today’s events.

With courage, determination, and approximately one brain cell,
