Tonight was DINNER NIGHT, which is one of my favorite kinds of nights because dinner nights involve smells, dropped food, and humans becoming dramatically distracted while holding plates.
The Man Human came over again, which was excellent news because he always greets me like I am the most important creature in the house, which is both flattering and correct. I greeted him with full body enthusiasm and one accidental nose poke directly to the stomach because my legs are very long and sometimes arrive before the rest of me.
The humans made food in the kitchen while I supervised from several strategic positions. First beside the counter. Then beside the table. Then directly in the walkway where I could monitor everything at once. At one point I became briefly fascinated by a spoon on the counter and stared at it for at least thirty seconds because it looked like it might want to be friends.
When the humans finally sat down to eat, I deployed my greatest skill.
The Look.
It is a very advanced technique involving large eyes, perfect stillness, and the suggestion that I have never eaten before in my life. The Man Human folded almost immediately. Amateur mistake.
A piece of chimken appeared. Then another.
At one point my human said, “Stop feeding her from the table,” but she was smiling while she said it, which I correctly interpreted as mixed messaging.
The Man Human told me I was “too cute to say no to,” which is information I will absolutely be using against him in the future.
Dinner lasted a very long time because the humans kept talking and laughing. I rested my head dramatically in the Man Human’s lap and accepted occasional tribute while pretending I was not actively waiting for more. The house smelled wonderful, and everyone seemed happy.
I think I like this pack arrangement very much. Especially the chimkin part.
With love, optimism, and absolutely no shame,
Ms. Frizz
