HELLO from a PARTY,
Today I attended a Gathering, but not just any Gathering. A Doggo Gathering.
We arrived at Another Dog’s House. I could tell immediately from the layered scent signatures on the walkway that this was a place of great importance. Many dogs and several questionable decisions.
I entered as an honored guest and there were others. A round one. A loud one. A very fast one who believed he was faster than me.
He was incorrect. We initiated The Zoom for proof that I was the fastest. He lost.
Around chairs. Through legs. Across rugs that did not ask for this. I unfolded my full noodle length and became speed itself. The wind of my own ears was glorious.
Then a hat was placed upon my head. It was small, colorful and had no purpose. A true leader does not fear ceremonial headwear. The humans gathered around a table and produced The Cake. You may think this is a food for all and you would be wrong.
They ate it in front of us. Forks. Plates. Laughter. Betrayal. I positioned myself strategically, long and elegant, directly beneath the smallest human. The one with uncertain grip strength and poor spatial awareness.
I waited. Patience is a skill I have cultivated over many lifetimes.
A piece fell and time slowed. I moved with precision to clean it up, they should have been grateful, the small human made messes that made the head person grumble.
Victory!
The humans gasped as though surprised by physics. I resumed my post as if nothing had occurred.
More zooming followed with lots of barking. There was one brief disagreement about a squeaky object that was clearly mine by right of proximity.
The Human laughed a lot today and it made the air feel bright. I like Gatherings, they are full of chaos, crumbs, and joy. I wouldn’t complain about going to another Gathering if they have cake.
Until next time,
Ms. Frizz
